When it comes to health and vitality it is important to understand the 6 Foundation Principles of Health and how it affect your overall wellness. So what are the “6 Foundational Principles”?
Thinking | Breathing | Hydration | Nutrition | Sleep | Movement
Thinking- Involves your thoughts and your dream. When we focus on what we want we attract it. When you do what you Love, you will never work a day in your Life! Being creative, spending time with people that are positive and up lifting in your life, will help to change your thoughts. And when you change your mind, you change your reality.
Breathe- Oxygen is the #1 nutrient your body needs to stay a live. Breathing happens even when we are not thinking about it. It affects our digestive system, alkalizes blood, increases oxygen in the blood, reduces inflammation, improves thinking, pumps the spine and more. Your breathe is Life so take some time to breathe.
Hydration- 70% of our body is made up of water, so drink half your body weight in ounces with a pinch of sea salt in your water. Building your water reserve can be done by consuming foods that have a high water content. Dry foods take away from your hydration and do not aid in keeping you well hydrated. Drink your water and eat your veggies and fruits!
Nutrition- Eat Whole Foods and stay away from S.A.D.C.R.A.P. (Standard, American, Diet, Carbohydrates, Refined, Artificial, Processed). Also staying away from the 4 White Devils (White Sugar, White flour, White processed salt, pasteurized Dairy products) Eating whole foods that are organic or farmed locally will add energy and vitality to your body. Regularly spaced meals will assist in supporting the metabolism.
Sleep- Is free and does not cost you money so take advantage of it. Going to bed at 10 pm and waking at 6 am will give you 8 hours of sleep. Turning the lights off, electronics (especially those tablets and phone) at least 1- 2 hours before bed will prepare your body for sleep. Sleep is when our body and our brain recovers. Making a consistent practice of this will leave you feeling revived and refreshed in the morning!
Movement- is also free! Move at least 20-30 mins a day in order to get your body pumping. Walking, running, gardening, working out and even Tai chi are all movements that will benefit your body. Movement affects the circulatory system, lymphatic, digestive and will even improve your mood and your THINKING!
