TIM JANAK, JR
CHEK Practitioner, LMT, COMT, NST, HLC
Tim Janak Jr. has spent his life in motion — and that has made all the difference.

Growing up, Tim was surrounded by music. His father played accordion in a German band, and that early exposure sparked something that would shape him for decades. He picked up the French Horn in sixth grade, performed through high school in marching band and solo competitions, and went on to march with the Bluecoats in Drum Corps International in 1999 and 2001 — one of the most physically and artistically demanding performance experiences in the world. He continued performing in jazz ensembles at Houston Community College and later at the University of North Texas, where he won a solo competition and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education.

But music wasn't the only thing pulling at him. Tim ran trail races in his twenties, competed in CrossFit — including the CrossFit South Regional Games — played lacrosse, and completed multiple Rim to Rim hikes through the Grand Canyon. Through all of it, he came to understand something deeply personal: movement is freedom. And when that freedom is taken away, everything changes.
Tim also grew up watching his father work. As Tim Sr. made his way through massage therapy school, Tim Jr. was often on the table — experiencing firsthand the ability of massage to resolve sports injuries, migraine headaches, and TMJ issues. He didn't just observe the work. He felt what it could do.

In 2019, Tim faced his own physical challenge when numbness began developing in his left hand, stemming from his neck. Rather than pursuing surgery, he did what he had always believed in — he sought out a chiropractor, acupuncturist, massage therapist, and CHEK Practitioner, and committed to a corrective exercise program built around his recovery. He healed. Just as his father had before him.

That experience deepened an already profound commitment. Tim joined his father at Paths in Healing in 2006 and has spent nearly two decades helping athletes, chronic pain sufferers, and everyday people reclaim their freedom of movement. He is an Integrative Neurosomatic Therapist, Certified Orthopedic Massage Therapist, and CHEK Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 3. He has worked with CrossFit athletes, runners, cyclists, golfers, lacrosse players, MMA fighters, gymnasts, and equestrians. He lectures on Neurosomatic Therapy, teaches at Texas Massage Education, and instructs courses across Florida, Pennsylvania, and Texas.

He also leads drum circles — joyful, expressive gatherings that he believes connect hearts and uplift the community. It is, in many ways, the same intention he brings to every session: to be present, to inspire, and to remind people of their own capacity to heal.

Tim describes himself as a loving, joyful, courageous leader. His vision is simple — to be present with the light of love within himself, and to inspire others to be present with that same light within them. To take ownership of his health, and to inspire others to take ownership of theirs.

That vision is Paths in Healing.
