We are excited to announce that we are going to the Grand Canyon and doing another Rim-to-Rim hiking trip, October 7-12, 2021. Learn how we are training for such a strenuous hike and how you too can hike in the canyon safely by following a similar exercise program. Join Tim Janak, Sr. (a Grand Canyon Rim-to-Rim hiker since 1987) and Tim Janak, Jr. (a Rim-to-Rim hiker since 1992) through their amazing adventure. We will start Blogging about our adventure and training.
Our Itinerary:
On October 7 we will fly to Phoenix, AZ. Before traveling around to the Grand Canyon’s North Rim, we will stop and enjoy the sights at Wupatki National Monument and Sunset Crater. We will spend the first night in Marble Falls, AZ, and in the morning drive to the North Rim of the Grand Canyon for a three night stay at the Grand Canyon Lodge.
The Grand Canyon’s North Rim is remote and offers its visitors an oasis from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. While there, we will be hiking and exploring the beautiful views the Canyon. While at the North Rim Lodge, we also plan to sit back and relax, soaking up the wonderful sights of the North Rim at the Grand Canyon Lodge. So Beautiful!
Early in the morning on October 11th, our final full day at the Grand Canyon, we will embark on a 24 mile Rim-to-Rim hike. Our Beloved Janeen will be going the long way around and will enjoy the sights while traveling in our vehicle to pick us up from the other side. After crossing the Grand Canyon, we will enjoy a night at the Grand Canyon South Rim’s Yavapai Lodge to relax and recover.
Our trip in the Grand Canyon ends on October 12, the morning after the Rim-to-Rim hike, with a quick-paced trip to Sedona! While in Sedona, we are going to choose from a few of their several hikes around the red rock formations. We won't miss Sedona's unique galleries and boutiques though we love shopping at these great places. Tim Sr. and Tim Jr. are excited to reenergize at a few of the vortex energy sites that surround the town. after this trip they will be ready to come back to work.
Continue to follow us for tips on training, gear and reviews of the amazing places we will see.
