Paths in Healing Addresses Pain and Pain Sources. Back Pain.

Back Pain addressed by Massage

What is back pain?

Sciatica, Lumbago, SI joint pain or dysfunction, Strained or Pulled Backs, short leg syndrome, bulged disks, low back pain, tight backs are all dysfunctions of the back. Although these dysfunctions vary in discomfort and in location, they may all deal with imbalances. Today low back pain alone affects 80% of all adults.

How does Paths in Healing address back pain?

We address all the muscles of the spine as well as the muscles that influence tilt, rotation, or shear of the pelvis. A thorough charting and assessment is done with every client that will help us understand where the true problem is coming from. We identify tight restricted muscles, stretch these muscles and assign stretching exercises for these muscles. The muscles that are over stretched and weakened will be strengthened by correct strengthening programs. This will bring the balance that is needed to ensure a healthy back. In each session we will re-chart to verify that the work is holding. As the pelvis comes back into balance, the remainder of the alignment of the spine is checked. Core strengthening exercises are assigned for homework and correct movement is emphasized and addressed.
